Quantics is a specialist statistics and information consultancy. We work with public and private sector organisations providing expert knowledge in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and health sectors. Our work is very varied, from helping a client to optimally design a bioassay for a new biologic drug through to acting as principle statisticians on an international clinical trial.

As part of our planned expansion Quantics are seeking a statistician who wants to gain experience in a wide variety of statistical techniques as applied in the biotech, pharma and health sectors. They need to enjoy learning new methodologies and be able to fit well into a team. We envision additional expansion so opportunities for promotion are expected.
This permanent post would be based at Roslin BioCentre, Edinburgh.
Job Description:
Reporting to one of our senior statisticians you will be responsible for providing statistical analysis on a wide range of projects - the scope of the work is varied and will be challenging. Projects can range from optimising design of pre-clinical assays for new vaccines through to analysis of post marketing surveillance data for an approved oncology medication. You will be responsible for communicating the results of your analyses to clients in oral or written format. Training to enable you to meet these challenges will be provided as required.
Skills/Experience Required:
Our preferred candidate will possess a relevant degree to MSc or PhD level or have two years relevant industry experience. You should be very familiar with either SAS or S-PLUS/R. You will enjoy learning new methodologies and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. You must be able to work accurately under pressure with excellent attention to detail. The ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely to non-statisticians, both orally and in writing is also a requirement.
