I have been on this list before. Something happened. I think that it was
an end to my then email.
Maybe things at the time were a little hectic. However it was, I didn't
return. Until now. (Cue sinister music)
My interests in "digital writing" are quite wide, I think, though I am
sceptical about some of the hype, though not about the concepts.
It's the digital snake oil I worry about.
I have for instance seen writing described as digital because Person A
sent the poem by email to Person B
I have quite a background in Computing; but I try not to let that hinder me.
My interest in practice could be seen as an extension of an interest in
applying machines to art in general - from text-sound composition out of
analog studios in the 70s onwards.
Since 2004 I have been working with John Levack Drever to make live sound
pieces; and I am, until Spring next year, an AHRC Creative Research Fellow
in the Music Dept at Goldsmiths.
Not everything I do is digital. I see it all as a sort of continuum, which
is the sort of waffle I tend to hate.
I am not hung upon genre titles.
I'll stop there but will say more if anyone wishes - may be a couple of
days delay in replying to any response.
all best
