financial planning a daunting add-on to your role? Would you like to use
your events to communicate effectively with funders? Then these courses are
for you. The Foundations of Finance; One Day Business Plan; and Delivering
Successful Events are running in late June and early July. Each of the
courses has been tailored to the needs of museum, library and archive
professionals using case studies and relevant examples to inspire you back
at work.
While times are hard, jobs uncertain and funders more cautious than ever
business and financial planning are essential. So read on and we look
forward to seeing you soon at Creating Capacity for Museums, Libraries and
Archives.
More about Foundations of Finance...
This course is ideally suited to those who have recently moved in to a
financial role or are building up skills in that area ready to face the
challenges coming up in the next few years. In your role you may feel that
you have already covered much of this, but the course will give you
additional confidence in handling budgets and planning for the future using
financial tools. It will de-mystify accountancy language so that you can
report back effectively to your organisation on its progress. Don't miss
the opportunity of using course materials which are designed to suit your
needs as your role develops.
The course details are:
Foundations of Finance
Date: 30 June 2010

refreshments

pre-event questionnaire to find the issues you are most challenged by at the
moment and respond to them.
More about Delivering Successful Events
Have you been thinking about how to make the most of your events to attract
new supporters; raise awareness of your work in the community; and engage
users in a range of wonderful activities? Making sure your events are
planned effectively so that they achieve their objectives is essential.
This course enables participants to learn and share with others including
the guest speaker Joanna Laird, Events Officer from the Foundling Museum.
It will encourage participants to use a framework for events planning and
help everyone prepare for their own organisation's particular challenges
using group interactive discussion and one-to-one time with the trainer.
It's an opportunity to develop confidence in events planning using tried and
tested tools and set in place practical solutions to ride the recessionary
storm.
