Can anyone who has an interest in such things point me in the
direction of the most recent evidence on the effect of statins used
for primary prevention on the overall death rate, both in general and
by sex and age.
I've obviously followed the debate in general and in respect of
cardiovascular mortality and morbidity, but have this feeling (not
yet fully researched) that the effect on overall mortality makes
their use in some groups even more questionable than the BMJ suggests.
