A waypoint mask includes only fibers that pass through it. A stop or
termination mask stops fibers when they enter it. Thus, if you want fibers
that only pass through a mask and then stop there, you need both.

Matt.

Subject: Re: [FSL] probtrackx options
Hiya,
I have other questions regarding probtrackx options:
1.) I took the example from the practical (Anatomical priors in
tractography) where the termination mask is the same as the waypoint mask.
Why would I need to choose a waypoint mask, wouldn't the selection of the
termination mask only give the same results? Or does this method actually
identify fibres that run through (starting from my seed mask) AND stop at
the termination mask (=waypoint mask)
2.) Maybe this question is the answer for 1.): In case I wanted to identify
only those fibres that terminate in my termination mask, and don't pass
through the termination mask, I wouldn't choose a waypoint mask. Is this
right?
Thanks again for your input.
All the best,
Torsten
