POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP

The Department of Statistics, University of Toronto and Cancer Care
Ontario, invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Fellow for one-year,
(renewable annually for at most two further years), beginning September 1,
2010, (negotiable) under the supervision of Professor Patrick Brown and
Professor James Stafford. The incumbent will be involved in a program of
research centered on the development of novel methods for spatial/temporal
modelling of disease and environmental process.
The successful candidate should hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in
statistical science or a related discipline. Additional requirements
include expertise using R, and other programming languages, and
demonstrated research abilities. In addition, knowledge of
spatial/temporal processes, nonparametric techniques (local likelihood,
penalized approaches, Lasso etc) and Bayesian MCMC techniques is a
definite asset but all strong applicants with some of the above attributes
will be considered.

Stipend: $50,000 - Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and
experience.
