We are seeking an inspirational Principal Lecturer for a cluster of
programmes in the Social Sciences. The field includes our highly
successful post graduate and undergraduate programmes in the areas of
Anthropology, Politics, and International Development. A committed and
energetic staff team have developed an array of excellent provision
adding new programmes in recent years and developing on established
strength.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate the ability to provide academic
and management leadership across these area and in particular must be
equipped to oversee the ongoing development of our well-established
Anthropology programme.
We are seeking a special individual with the vision to take the field
forward. You must have a good track record in programme development and
management and possess a doctoral degree in a relevant academic area.
It is essential that you have an extensive experience of teaching and
research in higher education and a significant track record of research
and publication, suitable for consideration for submission in the
forthcoming REF.

We are seeking a new colleague to teach on our Anthropology Programme.
The successful candidate will contribute to teaching on our BSc
Anthropology degree course. You must have demonstrable teaching
abilities and skills for motivating students of diverse background and
educational attainment, preferably you will have some relevant teaching
and lecturing experience at undergraduate level.
Candidates demonstrating interdisciplinary breadth across fields such as
anthropology and archaeology; or evolutionary and social anthropology
would be particularly welcomed. Action research in the areas of urban
anthropology; gender and international development; or indigenous rights
activism is relevant for future course development, and would also be
welcomed. The successful candidate will have ethnographic,
primatological or archaeological fieldwork experience. You will also be
able to work as part of the programme team, and to take a share of
administrative duties, while contributing to an active research culture.
You will have a Ph.D. in Anthropology or a closely related discipline,
with a developing research and publication record.
