NatCen Learning still has limited places available on two of our summer courses. We offer discounts to students, academics and those working in the voluntary sector:
Reviewing Research: an introduction
1 day - 09 Jun 2010
Research reviews may be conducted as groundwork for new primary research, as an expression of the current state of knowledge in a field, or to evaluate 'what works' in policy or practice. This one day introduction to research reviewing will provide participants with a clear overview of the process of research reviewing and key principles and issues relating to designing, conducting and managing research reviews.
This course will be useful for: researchers who want to develop their skills in conducting research reviews and assessing the findings presented in research studies; and research commissioners or managers who want to increase their confidence when managing research reviews.
Basic statistical analysis for social research
2 days - 16-17th June
This two day course aims to familiarise participants with how to use basic statistics and understand the principles underlying statistical thinking and practice. As well as reviewing the issues and practical considerations behind different statistical concepts and analysis methods. The course will be useful for new researchers, or those new to survey analysis and statistics who have little or no prior experience in statistics and want to explore the principles of statistical analysis. It will provide an understanding of basic statistics and provide the skills for participants to explore and analyse survey data themselves at this level.
For more information and details of how to book please see our website: http://www.natcen.ac.uk/our-training or contact us on 020 7549 8577.
