Research Associate in Spatial Econometrics and GIS
This is an exciting opportunity to undertake post-doctoral research on a new three-year Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC) project on ‘developing relevant tools for demand responsive transport (DRT for DRT)’. The summary of the project can be found at: http://gow.epsrc.ac.uk/ViewGrant.aspx?GrantRef=EP/I005455/1
The Research Associate to be appointed will develop a series of statistical models to estimate current and future demand for DRT in England and Wales at both aggregated (area-wide) and disaggregated (individual) levels. In order to accomplish this, there are a number of further tasks that need to be carried out including: formulate hypotheses with respect to travel behaviour and DRT, identify and merge various databases from different sources, preferably using a GIS framework and select a range of statistical methods (both classical and Bayesian) to develop demand models. The work will be under the guidance of Dr Mohammed Quddus and Dr Tim Ryley.
