Theoretical quantum dynamics of gas-surface interaction
A postdoctoral position is available, starting immediately in the group
"Theory of dynamical processes in molecular systems" within the LCAR
laboratory (http://www.lcar.ups-tlse.fr), University Paul Sabatier Toulouse.
The project aims at studying the sticking and the reaction of hydrogen
atoms on various surfaces in close connection with cold H plasma
experiments performed at the Center of Research on Plasmas, Materials
and Nanostructures in Grenoble (see S. Béchu, D. Lemoine, M. Bacal, A.
Bès, J. Pelletier, "Production of H- ions by surface mechanisms in
Cs-free multi-polar microwave plasma", AIP Conference Proceedings 1097,
74-83 (2009)).
Experience with quantum scattering methodologies and/or coupling to the
phonon modes and/or DFT calculations (in particular VASP) of
atom/molecule-surface interactions is expected.
