Dear List,
I've just read a term in a 16th century Cornish tinwork deed referring to the word Tolnet in connection with the work. The way it is couched suggests that it is actually the name of the working, but its sounds different than the usual name variants and I wondered if it might have something to do with 'Toll Tin' (taxed tin)?
Any ideas, anyone?
