Is there any incentive for them to add access indicators? Surely better for business to lead people to as many interesting articles as possible so that they then push their institutions for subscriptions or extra e-access.
Thanks

Hi Sarah,
We don't access via OpenAthens and that is irrelevant in regards to "access indicators". Wiley do not have any icons or other indications of access as Blackwell did. We have recently been told that a platform upgrade will include some type of "access icons". I think that pressure needs to be continued to be applied on Wiley to ensure that this happens.

Susanne

Subject: Wiley Interscience
Hi all,
I know the subject of the platform for Wiley Interscience has come up a
few times, but I wondered if anyone else is accessing it via OpenAthens
who might be able to share some words of wisdom with me.
We're getting complaint after complaint from students about accessing
Wiley journals which have filtered down to course committee meetings.
One of the problems is that is seems impossible to tell which
journals/articles one is supposed to have access to until one gets to
article level. I've been trying to impress upon Wiley the importance of
the features we are requesting, and their latest gambit is that they
don't offer access via OpenAthens, and to contact Eduserv.
Is this right? Do they not offer access via OpenAthens? And has anyone
managed to get any information on when/if they might make improvements
to the platform that might make the user experience a little better?
A very confused,
Sarah
