Senior Research Fellow (Neuroimaging)
Clayton Campus, Full Time, 3.5 year Fixed Term appointment*
A Senior Research Fellow is sought to work in the Experimental
Neuropsychology Research Unit, School of Psychology and Psychiatry,
Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, Monash University,
Clayton Campus, starting 1 June 2010, under a 3.5 year fixed Term
appointment.
We are particularly interested in a neuroscientist with extensive
neuroimaging experience with respect to functional magnetic resonance
imaging (fMRI) and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), as well as expertise
in software tools such as SPM, FSL, Freesurfer and MRIcron. Familiarity with Matlab
would also be advantageous. Experience with neurodegenerative disorders
would be desirable but not mandatory. We are keen to find a
neuroscientist who works well in a team, has excellent
interpersonal/communication skills, and is highly efficient and
organised. A well established track record of neuroimaging research is
mandatory.
The successful applicant will help lead an ongoing longitudinal project
which involves re-scanning of Huntington's disease/healthy control
individuals on a Siemens 3T MR, Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne.
The position will primarily involve managing a large image data set,
extensive high level image analysis, training of research staff,
manuscript preparation, and will work closely with and complement a
dynamic interdisciplinary research team that includes Associate
Professor Nellie Georgiou-Karistianis (Monash University) and Professor
Gary Egan (Howard Florey Institute).
