Subject: Job Advert: Bealey Project Archivist at Bury Archives
Following a successful application to the National Cataloguing Grants scheme,
Bury Archives Service requires a qualified Archivist to work on the cataloguing
project Close Relations: The Bealey's of Radcliffe Archive.
You will catalogue the collection to international standards using CALM
software, creating access points for new audiences. Additionally you will
explore ways to capture new audiences for the collection, working closely with
the team of Bury Museum + Archives and volunteers.
You must have appropriate experience of working in an archive service and
with collections based activity. Experience of cataloguing is essential and you
should be able to demonstrate knowledge of archives standards and have the
ability to create index access points to suit varied audiences. You will be able
to work independently and as part of a team, with skills in accuracy and
attention to detail. Experience of cataloguing with CALM is desirable.
Salary: £21,519 - £24,646 per annum (pro rata)
Temporary Post: 6 months
