The neural basis of high-level cognition
Recent years have seen a huge interest in reinforcement learning models, in particular in treating them as appropriate models for high-level cognition. Despite this interest, however, empirical tests of reinforcement learning models are typically based on relatively simple conditioning paradigms. In the current PhD project, we intend to test reinforcement learning models in high-level cognition at the neural level.
Requirements
The successful candidate is expected to have a Master's degree in psychology or related discipline. He or she will carry out neuroimaging (fMRI) experiments on this topic, and is thus expected to be highly interested in experimentation, programming, data analysis, and the functioning of the human brain.
