Dear All,
The following scenario has emerged and I wanted some advice and or guidance on how to approach it. At the authority, we have a number of integrated teams wherein our officers work in a team with officers from the local PCT.
The question that has emerged is what retention guidelines are used. Do we use A or B, which ever is longer, or do we agree each retention guideline as a hybrid (AB)?
In some cases, the PCT retention guidelines are a lot longer than the Council's. In other cases, the Council has a longer retention period.
Is this something we should create a sub-category for in that the integrated teams need to be covered by special rules in that they fall between Local Authority and PCT?
How are other people approaching this type of situation? Also, where would you store the records? Do they go back to the Local Authority or the PCT?
Best,
Lawrence
