Dear Colleagues
I am currently conducting a desk based review on the value of experience
in library and information work in preparation for my presentation to be
given at the Health Libraries Group Conference in July.
I am contacting the lists for help in trying to identify any studies
comparing experienced versus less experienced LIS practitioners or
experience versus non-experience in LIS related activities e.g.
searching skills. For inclusion a study needs to have a comparison, a
measure of performance and a measure of experience.
If you know of any such studies (e.g. experienced cataloguers versus
non-experienced cataloguers, experienced enquiry staff versus
non-experienced, experienced searchers versus novices, experienced
managers versus new managers etcetera) I would very much welcome a
pointer or reference.
Thanking you in advance for your contributions to Evidence Based LIP!
Regards
Andrew
