Hi
Thanks for the input. I was seriously tempted on the McShib event unfortunately I already had a paid for training event set up on that day. I will look out for the slides on the Jisc site though.
At this point I think I'm going to continue doing battle with the CAS. I may have spotted one of my issues, we use SamAccount name and the Cas seems to be looking for the distinguished name. At least it is a starting point.
Many thanks

It was both! We had someone create a mailloop here _and_ the new jisc site had teething problems!

Well that's a really good reason for using it!

Like Peter says, moodle will need some extra module either to redirect authentication to CAS or the SP to redirect it to the IdP, so you're going to have to install some extra components anyway - I have heard moodle is pretty straightforward to shibbolise but I have no personal experience of it. And also as Peter says, the SP is pretty straightforward to set up, I'm giving a short presentation on it at McShib, although I'm afraid it's not too conveniently located for you! The slides will be going up on the jisc rsc web site, or I could send you a sneak preview (there isn't a lot to tell!). Incidentally we have it installed here on SLES 10, by full compile and also now on Solaris. Our unix guy is pretty able and wasn't too complimentary about the documentation that is available for that, but his notes are also included in the McShib presentation.
I wouldn't be too worried about getting into the SP, we're getting pretty excited here about all the things we could stick it on, we've just got a new CMS and the web folks are keen to use it on that.
Anyway, I'm not adding anything to your original question so I'll butt out!
NALH (not a lot of help :-)
Andy
