We advise our reception staff that if any one who rings up with chest pain should be advised to call an ambulance. The ambulance call handlers are better placed to assess the chest pain & will usually let us know if we need to visit. However in my experience the patients will either call an ambulance on reception advice or insist on talking to a GP if they feel its not that bad.
