Stipendiary Lecturership
German
The two Colleges intend to appoint a Stipendiary Lecturer in German for
the period 1st October 2010 - 30th September 2011. This is a fixed-term
position created to provide substitute teaching following the election
of Professor Ritchie Robertson to the Taylor Chair of German at The
Queen's College. The successful candidate will be required to provide
up to eight hours of undergraduate tutorials and classes per week
during term, five hours per week at St. John's College and three hours
at St. Catherine's College. Candidates must be able to teach
translation into English; German grammar; first-year set texts and a
range of post-1730 literature, mainly for Papers VIII and X. The
syllabuses for undergraduate courses can be found on the Medieval and
Modern Languages Faculty's website: http://www.mod-langs.ox.ac.uk.
The Lecturer will also be expected to assume responsibility for
administrative and pastoral duties and to share in the undergraduate
admissions process at both Colleges.
The salary will be £27,319 per annum. Full dining rights throughout
the year will be offered. A research allowance is also available.
