Hello everyone, (Portuguese version of this request below)
SBS Portuguese program interviewed both Timorese Sisto da Costa
Guterres and Felipe da Silva in 1995, after their arrival in Darwin as
boatpeople from East Timor.
It was the first boat - and the only one - to come to Australia with
Timorese asylum-seekers.
We would like to interview them again now, after 15 years, for a
special SBS radio/online coverage during the Refugee Week, with a "now
and then" approach.
If you know them or who could know where they are now, please let us
know.
We are also looking for the 5 months old baby that was in the same boat
- now a teenager. We don't know his name but some people believed he
could be the son of Alfredo Reinado.
The rebel leader Alfredo Reinado, killed in the attack to the president
José Ramos-Horta in 2008, actually came to Australia on this boat as
well, arriving in Darwin on 30th May 1995.

O líder rebelde, assassinado no ataque à residência do presidente José
Beatriz
