I am in total shock to hear about the sudden death of David who I have known for years. Another disability activist been taken away from us too soon. I have just spoken to Sue Bott and they are all still in shock, like me, at NCIL to hear about David passing away. Sue informs me that David had a chest infection that developee complications over the weekend and she reassures me that he did have the best care, butthey could not save his life.
I still have my own thoughts and opinions and fears about 'care of disabled' people in hospitals, which now is not the right time to discuss them here and my thoughts and memories are with David and his family and friends at this sad time.
David will always be remembered for his hard work and passion and belief in the cause for basic human rights and civil liberties towards independent living for all disabled people.
Thanks David, will miss you mate, but you'll never be forgotten by me.
I hope that we can do something is your memory and that of Ken's, Roy's and other disability activist who have been taken from us suddenly recently... any ideas???
What else can one say about David Morris!!!.... A sad day for the disabled and inclusive living movement and I know that David was a great ally towards Autistic, NeuroDiverse and Mental Health survivors movements too.
He had a genuine empathic nature and cared for others, especially those who are oppressed.
God Bless
Colin Revell
