Hello,
Just to let everyone know about the next, 2.1.4, release. This is mainly
a (low-level) documentation release, but will have the odd extra feature
It will hopefully be out in the next few weeks (documentation be willing).
As some of you might know, Chris Spronk is working on some of the
higher-level documentation and as such we are now going to classify
releases as "stable" (which is what he will document) and "leading edge"
(or whatever you want to call it). This is sort of de facto what we have
been doing all along although we haven't called it this at all. The
"stable" release is expected to stay as is (modulo bug fixes) for a year
or more.
Release 2.1.4 will be the coming "stable" release, so this is what Chris
will document. As such (just because of the way things are set up) the
"leading edge" release will be 2.2.0, and then 2.2.1, etc. And at some
point 2.2.x (some x) will be deemed "stable" and we'll move to 2.3.0 as
the "leading edge" release, etc.
The idea is that those who want something that doesn't move can use the
"stable" release and those who are happy to live with the danger of
constant updates can use the "leading edge" releases.
