JISC digital media have a course on audio digitisation -

udio/ This is held in Bristol, but that's not too far on the train.
Your best bet in London is probably to check with the British Library
Sound Archive. They're doing an event in collaboration with the Oral
History Society in May
(http://www.oralhistory.org.uk/training/digitisation.php) but may well
have others planned too.
