Applications are invited for PhD studentships in the Department of
Mathematics and Statistics at Lancaster University (UK).
We currently have a 3 year PhD studentship available in
Statistics/Probability. As one of the UK's most successful statistics
groups, the department contains a broad range of interests including
Applied Probability, Bayesian and Computational Statistics, Time Series
and Extremes, Social Statistics, Medical and Pharmaceutical Statistics.
We welcome applications in any of these areas, but are particularly keen
to encourage applications within Applied Probability.
A fully funded studentship pays fees plus a stipend for the length of
the PhD. Stipend values are approx. £15,000 per annum (tax free).
Standard EPSRC eligibility conditions apply.
The department provides a thriving research environment, with over 30
PhD students within Statistics and Probability. It runs an extensive
range of postgraduate level courses; it is also a founder member of the
UK's Academy for PhD Training in Statistics (APTS) and has the UK's only
doctoral training centre specialising in Statistics and Operational
Research.
