Associate Director of Clinical Research
The new School of Health and Medicine brings together Lancaster University’s
renowned strengths in clinical, biomedical and social sciences to provide a
distinctive interdisciplinary setting for implementing its ambitious plans
in health and medicine.
The School is establishing a joint NHS / University platform for clinical
research across Cumbria & Lancashire, led by Professor John Goodacre and
Professor Peter Diggle. Applications are invited from ambitious staff with
expertise in medical statistics, epidemiology or related fields, a track
record of contributions to methodological and applied clinical research,
and the combination of professional expertise, personal skills and
initiative to ensure the success of this important project.
We are seeking an outstanding individual at senior lecturer level to play a
key role in implementing this exciting initiative by working in partnership
with four local NHS Trusts to identify and develop collaborative research
projects and programmes on the theme of Evaluating Health Treatments and
Interventions, and to advance their own research profile within the overall
initiative.
You will work closely with local NHS R&D Directors, the NIHR Cumbria &
Lancashire Comprehensive Local Research Network (CLRN) and the NW
Research Design Services (RDS), as well as with colleagues in the
School and with Industry.
