I don't know about the accuracy of BCP albumin-adjusted
calcium, but I do know that ionized calcium measured on
commercial analyzers is not itself independent of albumin
concentration. There are references to the evidence in the
Discussion of Masters PW, Payne RB. Clin Chem 1993; 39:
1082-5. The full text is available free online.
