I know Rick answered this penetrating observation in his explanation of the way some projects (like the Open Museum and MANS) build on and complement others. I had a similar concern about all the terrific tools and databases unveiled at DOCAM. I'll return to this problem, and the very different solution I presented there, in another dispatch shortly.
