Robert:
I concur with "Curator" on this subject. In my data-base I have many listings
similar to the one "Curator" has posted. One that came to mind is as follows:
Wheal Betsy Mine: - Notice to Masons and Contractors – Persons desirous of
tendering for building an Engine House, Boiler House, and Stack at Wheal
Betsy, in the parish of Mary Tavy, may see the plan and specification at the
office on the Mine, where tenders will be received on or before the 31st inst.
The lowest nor any tender not necessarily accepted. Tenders will also be
received at the same time and place for the carriage of stone at per perch.
Wheal Betsy, 19th January 1871.
Tavistock Gazette: Friday 20th January 1871.
At present I'm unable to search for more info due to family matters.
Regards Chris Kelland.
