This is an ideal opportunity for people working in libraries and learning resource centres to find out more about Web 2.0 from one of the most knowledgeable and respected practitioners in the field. No previous Web 2.0 knowledge or experience is required and delegates are encouraged to ask any questions they have about using Web 2.0 tools and their place in an FE environment.
Phil Bradley is an information specialist and Internet Consultant. An accredited trainer to the European Parliament, Phil also runs courses in conjunction with TFPL, CILIP, the Royal Society of Medicine and the School Libraries Association among others.
With search his speciality, Phil is often referred to as the 'UK Search Guru' and is an SEO (Search Engine Optimiser). He has written several books on different aspects of the Internet, including:
The advanced internet searcher's handbook
Getting and staying noticed on the web
Internet power searching: the advanced manual (US)
The business and economy internet resource handbook (ed)
The Library Internet trainer's toolkit (written by Michael T Stephens, adapted by Phil for a UK audience),

Additionally, he writes a monthly column for the CILIP 'Update' magazine and a quarterly column on search engines for 'Ariadne' and other professional magazines, alongside writing and designing web pages.
Programme:
10.15 Introduction and welcome to the course
10.30 Overview of Web 2.0 (conceptual ideas, what is Web 2.0, where does it comes from, why is it important to us?)
11.15 Tea/Coffee
11.30 Web 2.0 tools (social networking, social bookmarking, blogs, wikis and more!)
1pm - 2pm Lunch (provided on site)
2pm - 3.30pm Hands-on session - Delegates have a chance to use Web 2.0 tools with expert guidance from Phil Bradley
3.30pm - 4pm Discussion & feedback on the session
