Just had my head blown away by an hour long lecture by Germaine Greer on the
plight of Australian aboriginal people, particularly those in the Northern
Territories. We went to see Greer, who spoke without any notes, immediately
after a poetry reading by Pasquale Petit, and I'm afraid (for the claims of
poetry) it was a no-contest in terms of impact, despite Petit's subject
matter being in the area normally reserved for shock.
