**** Second Circular ****
11th Biennial HITRAN Conference
(united with 10th ASA Conference)
Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics
Cambridge, USA
Wednesday, 16 June <-> Friday, 18 June 2010
** SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT **
(PLEASE NOTE EARLY REGISTRATION DEADLINE APPROACHING ==> 18 APRIL)
This second announcement contains updated information, as well as a
reminder, for The Eleventh Biennial HITRAN Conference. The meeting
will take place 16-18 June 2010 (starting on Wednesday), and will be
held at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge,
Massachusetts.
Information concerning the meeting is available on the HITRAN web site
(http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/hitran/HITRAN-Conference11/hitran11.html).
The Conference is a traditional meeting of users and contributors of
atmospheric spectroscopic data that is primarily used in calculations
and simulations of transmission and radiance in gaseous media. This
meeting will mark the union with the ASA (Atmospheric Spectroscopy
Applications) workshop that has traditionally been held every three
years in Reims, France.
The registration fee is $225 through 18 April. This fee covers the
cost of the sessions, proceedings, and refreshments. It also includes
lunches and one banquet ticket. Banquet tickets for accompanying
persons are available for purchase separately. Note that the
registration will increase to $275 after 18 April. There is a reduced
fee for students. Information about accommodations and directions is
also posted on the web site. (Conference attendees are responsible
for making their own reservations and payment for lodging.)
The deadline for submission of abstracts is 3 May. However, we recommend
submitting as early as possible. Space is limited. Alterations to
the abstracts can be made prior to this deadline. Abstracts should be
in a format developed by the Ohio State University Symposium on
Molecular Spectroscopy. The style file and instructions are provided
in our conference web site. Please e-mail files in the recommended
format to [log in to unmask] Also indicate preference for talk
or poster. Oral presentations will be limited to 30 minutes,
including questions.
