Hello dear list,
I'd like to update you all on Ke's problem, as I've been working with
him and the aggregator in question to try address this situation.
The basic problem that Ke was looking at was one with which I think
we're all familiar - both ISSNs and eISSNs were dumped into the Print
ISSN field of the COUNTER JR1, causing duplicate rows. The aggregator
tells me that the problem arises when the publishers provide journals
indexed by eISSN rather than by print ISSN. They have offered to
contact their vendors to try to have this sorted out.
As I know that there are vendors on this list as well, I'm hoping to
get the word out to both the statistics community and the publishers
and aggregators - there may be a simple fix to this situation that has
been causing problems for many of us.
Best to all,
