could you use a levelled map (using something like SpicyNodes; www.spicynodes.org)? - my colleague Paul Ramsay here at ASK at Portsmouth created one (crude screen shot attached) to enable staff to browse in our VLE our range of learning objects that can be integrated into course VLE pages
cheers

Hello Everyone,
We are merging our academic skills and library skills communities on our VLE (Blackboard). Currently, the front page is rather flat & boring. There is a piece of corporate introduction and a scroll-down menu to the left where all the various skills are listed in alphabetical order. These are followed by a link to booking workshops and other links for staff resources.I realise it's difficult to share VLE pages but I wondered if anyone has any ideas/examples of ways in which to make this top-level page more interesting please; at the same time, minimising the amount of information at this level. One suggestion is to order the skills as they might be approached whilst working through an assignment. Any thoughts?
Thanks
