Hi Daniela,
we have been considering porting the LCG-CE to SL5 for a while, did
most of the work, but decided not to release it.
The strategic goal is to move to the CREAM-CE, which is supported by
the gLite roadmap.
In addition the CREAM_CE has long awaited functional enhancements and
has a much better internal architecture.
Which downtime do you mean? In case you have no CREAM-CE, maybe you
could consider to setup a CREAM-CE.
