Ease of use for configuring several authentication sources is not the
issue. Running two full-featured, completely different WebSSO systems
for no appearent reason is.
I'm not saying that there are no reasons to run a campus or internal
WebSSO system and use Shib/SAML only for externally provided
resources. But there should be good reasons to do so (e.g. specific
features of the other campus SSO system, or Shib/SAML shortcummings
that can't easiy worked around/fixed).
