I have formatted a spreadsheet to look like an SRF which are sent electronically to staff to complete and return electronically. We then report via Edexcel on-line.
I have found that certificates arrive much quicker reporting grades via this method. This certainly helps with students with UCAS applications.

Absolutely agree.
I have "vetted" our BTEC tutors and allow some of them to do the
achievement reporting themselves, but still expect them to complete
SRF's so that we can answer queries whilst they are relaxing on a beach
somewhere!
If Edexcel ever stop sending SRF's I would ask the various teams to
create a spreadsheet holding the same info so that I have something to
fall back on!

My sentiments exactly! I have the same issue. I prefer checking the
SRFs as opposed to putting results on-line. It is just too much
compared with all the other things that we have to do in the summer.

I think for large colleges the idea of no SRFs is not feasible (we have
thousands and thousands of btec learners)
Edexcel have told us to give team leaders achievement access, but i can
see a situation where the exams team have to correct an awful lot of
errors, without a paper SRF to refer back to. And where are all the
staff
when the queries come back? On their summer hols!
I'd much rather have an SRF that i can quickly check (correct number of
units marked, all core units marked, correct certification request at
bottom) before sending off, and therefore find any issues before the
tutors all leave for summer.
