If you’re an experienced statistician or data analyst, then this new role in the Statistical Information team could be an exciting opportunity for you.
Your main remit will be to lead on the production of analytical cancer statistical projects from the Statistical Information Team (SIT), including both written reports and peer reviewed papers. In addition we are looking for a confident manager to strengthen the statistical knowledge and expertise within the team, providing training where appropriate. Communicating and advising on the use and interpretation of statistical information, both within the charity and to external stakeholders is also key to this role.
As well as contributing ideas and engaging in activities to strategically enhance the profile of the SIT, you will manage a small team of information officers, and you’ll also deputise for the Head when needed.
You will have a degree and postgraduate qualification in statistical and/or epidemiological field, or equivalent relevant knowledge. With a good understanding of the needs for statistical information provision, interpretation and communication, you will be competent in standard statistical software packages, such as STATA or SPSS; and MS Office, in particular Excel and Word.
You will also have project management experience and will need proven experience of writing for peer-reviewed research journals and/or writing detailed reports with interpretation of the findings.
