Hi. I would concur with Richard, but would propose that they are rodent gnaw
marks. They are not from canids or suids.

I shouldn't have used the word perimortem in my previous email. What I
should have written is that they look like gnawing marks done soon after
death, i.e. while the bone was still green. They have taken on the colour of
the rest of the bone, so cannot be recent.
