I did some analysis of the geological structures in the Tyne-Tees water tunnel as part of my Ph.D. At that time I got the records directly from the geologist on site. I don't know where the records are now but there was a paper on the tunnel published in 1980 which has some geological data:
Berry, N.S.M. 1980. Tunnelling by full-face machines in Carboniferous strata. Trans. Inst. Mining. Metall.(Section A: Mining Industry), 89, p114-157

Dear All,
Does anyone know where I might be able to find the geological data/records
made during construction of this tunnel??? I have asked Northumbrian Water
who cover this area, so it will be interesting to see what they might
have, but in the meantime it would be useful to know if there is anywhere else?
- BGS?
Regards, Bernard
