A bit of a long subject line, and I'm sneaking in a few questions in one
post:
1. What do museums, libraries and archives want from Wikipedia, Freebase,
Flickr and other online encyclopedic sources or repositories?
2. What do the people who work in museums, libraries and archives want from
Wikipedia, Freebase, Flickr and other online encyclopedic sources or
repositories? (As users of those services, or individuals who might author
cultural heritage-related content)
I don't want to pre-empt your answers by suggesting possible answers or
defining the questions too closely in this first post. If you'd rather
email me off-list, that's fine ([log in to unmask]).
You don't even have to answer here, there's a forum on the Museums and the
Web site about museums and Wikimedia (
http://conference.archimuse.com/forums/wikimediamw2010 or
http://bit.ly/d8W8q0) to help inform the debate 'Wikimedia@MW2010' (
http://www.archimuse.com/mw2010/abstracts/prg_335002379.html or
http://bit.ly/d1bIjc)
cheers, Mia
