I'm interested in hearing from colleagues elsewhere about any innovative
applications of kiosk technologies. Moving beyond the passive information
display (opening hours, etc.). For example, booking of rooms, equipment, even
staff; cashless payment of fines and other charges; top-up of print accounts;
to name a few desirables.
Is anyone well down this road - we would be very keen to learn from your
experience (and go green with envy over your budget). What hardware /
software are you using; how did you resource the development (e.g. on the
basis of reducing staff costs); what student involvement / response you've
experienced.
