I note that one free and open source software LMS, Koha-community.org,
has at least two alternative RFID implementations: one browser-based
and one client-server-based. I've been disappointed by the level of
support from RFID equipment suppliers (and I'm pretty sure I'm not
the only one), so we're probably already making the expensive mistakes!
But if we ever want to use this technology, we've got to develop it.
Anyone heard more about the RFID Alliance? I still haven't had any
membership info and their take on the Civica and Bibliotheca
announcement might be interesting (or will it be silence because of
Alliance member involvement?).
