Dear all;
Thank you for all of your responses via on/off the list.
In Japan, I've heard that some major universities prepare to start option 3.
(unfortunately, our Chiba univ. is not included :-( )
As a librarian, similarity of user-interface is one of the most important
issue. So I believe that 3) is the best solution also for Japan, and I have
strong interest on these test projects.
Additionally, I think "personalized service", for instance, alert feature
of some EJs or ProQuest's RefWorks, will be able to insist as the advantage
of Shibboleth, it is impossible for other solutions (i.e., proxies or VPNs)
without additional sign on.
However, it seems that to gain more Shibbolozed-SPs is the very matter for
our federation...
Regards;
Hideaki
