Well, that value does not just "appear" to be invalid, it definitively
is invalid per the eduPerson standard (cf. the URL I sent in my
previous mail) It's clearly neither an URN nor URL so fails even the
most basic requirement.
Any empirical tests showing that nothing exploded when using that
value just mean that software utilizing this attribute does not
currently enforce any kind of (e.g. syntactical) checks.
So why use internationally standardized attributes when they have no
intention to follow that very standard?
