Better Security, Mary. IE8 is more secure than IE7 than IE6. However, you have
to turn OFF a number of security settings to get IE8 to work, due to (what
appears to me) to be poor design of the C&B software (e.g. some content on web
pages is provided from a non-secure server).
Most of the NHS in our area is on IE6, which is soon to be End-of-Lifed by
Microsoft (so no new support/security updates will be issued after June, unless
they renege on this). This IS a significant security risk.

Subject: Re: [GP-UK] Internet Explorer 8 - enabling with C&B
I use Firefox at home - and we only upgrade IE when told to at the
surgery.
It sounds a lot of work and fiddling to use C&B in IE8: what are the
advantages in a surgery setting to upgrading to IE8 anyway?
