Hello all
I’m enjoying the BBC’s ‘a History of the World in 100 objects’ on Radio 4 – a series of 15 minute programmes. Tonight’s object was an early writing tablet, 5000 years old, from Mesopotamia, now southern Iraq. Here’s the link to the page:

There are links from here to the podcast and the transcript. A must for anyone in need of convincing of the importance of literacy! Next week’s programmes are all on writing-related subjects – and objects – associated with the beginnings of science and literature.
Cheers
James
