Hello,
We've just made 2.1.3 of Analysis and the FormatConverter live. There is
not that much change in Analysis, and the main point is to do with
documentation. The changes there were in Analysis I've listed at the
bottom.
On the documentation front, we had to add lots of hooks into the code, and
we felt rather than trying to do a large upgrade on 2.1.2 and getting it
wrong, we'd just put out a new release. The hooks are so that the widgets
(buttons, table column headings, etc.) can have what we are calling
toolTips. So the idea is that if you hover over something then after a
short pause some documentation will pop up. There is one example of this
in the new release and it is in the Experiment --> Spectra popup. This is
a demo only, so even the tips there should be improved, but any comments
on this front are welcome, including whether the font is too small (or too
big!).
There are two visual things that have changed in Analysis (not mentioned
in the list below). So area selection in the windows now uses a stippled
rectangle rather than just a rectangle outline. Hopefully that helps
rather than hinders (although the stippling sometimes goes slightly wonky
in the sense that some of the pixels might be stippled correctly).
And the second change is that if you now save a project then Analysis
remembers where (most of) the dialogs are, not just the contour windows,
so next time you start up it should open all the ones that were open
before and in the same place.
We could make one or both of these changes optional if people find them
objectionable.
The source release and pre-compiled releases are all there except for the
PPC Mac one, which I'll hopefully do tonight.
Wayne
