Research Assistant in Statistical Biocomputing
at the new Center for Bioinformatics and Biostatistics, Danube University
Krems, Austria
(pre- or post-doc, 25 or 30 hours per week, temporary contract with the
possibility of prolongation)
Tasks:
Administrative, academic and computer support for the international
postgraduate MSc program in Computational Life Sciences (in English)
Coordination of teaching activities with national and international lecturers
Tutoring work for MSc students in computer laboratories with a focus on
biostatistics and biocomputing as well as advisory work during their Master
theses
Participation in research projects
Software development in R and Bioconductor
Qualifications:
Master or doctor degree from an accredited university in statistics,
mathematical sciences, applied mathematics or similar
Experience in R programming, preferably also in the submission of R
packages to CRAN
Ability to assist students in their use of standard PC and Internet tools
Experience with advanced statistical methods and their application
A strong interest in the field of current omics research
Excellent command of English
Basic knowledge of German
