Dear Amir,
My philosophy is that if you don't know why you are doing something,
don't do it. So unless you have a reason to use the Hanning taper,
don't use it. In particular for induced responses there is not much
sense in using the Hanning taper as Bernhard correctly noted. It only
makes sense for evoked responses where you can talk about peaks of
interest and a noisy baseline. Even then I wouldn't use it unless
noisy baseline is really a problem and using Hanning makes a big
difference.
